"Middle Road" is the first single from Novelty Citizen's self titled EP, which will be available for streaming and purchase on all platforms on the 25th of April, 2018.
Part of Novelty Citizen's interpretation of a youthful 21st century vibe is the timeless symbolism of a journey. “Middle Road” is a song saturated in imagery and recollection through each verse. It is an admission of growth and malleability in the human psyche, written from the perspective of seeking truth and love day by day.
lyrics
Stayed outside so late, to catch the call.
Up on the rafters, with the words so tall.
Didn't stick with me, just how wrong it all was.
Staying outside so late, staying up for that buzz.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I stayed in firm, I often broke.
I wouldn't call it unequal yoke.
But "A kid is a kid", as they try to tell you.
And not too much later, it would be a joke.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I see the middle road...
Some time later, I learnt the why and how.
And they'll all call me a foolish heathen now.
It's not too hard to feel in luck, when the best falls to you
without the dirt and muck.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I see the simple way, I see the middle road.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too.
I left the low and wide but I left the high and narrow, too...
